2. Заслуги
Лёнберг впервые описал такие виды животных, как сомик диагональнополосый, афиосемион двухполосый, лесной северный олень, боливийский прыгун и реликтовая чайка. В честь Лёнеберга назван описанный Чарльзом Тэйтом Реганом вид рыб Trematomus loennbergii и описанный Грегори Мэтьюсом подвид бурого поморника Catharacta antarctica lonnbergi. Отто Граф Цедлиц и Трюцшлер посвятили в 1925 году Лёнбергу подвид буроголовой гаички. В 1926 году Masauji Hachisuka назвал в честь Лёнберга подвид полевого жаворонка.
